Title: The Iron King.
Author:
slytherin_gypsy.
Fandom: Marvel.
Pairing: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark.
Rating: G.
Word Count: 1030 words.
Summary: A Steve/Tony version of “The Frog Prince”. The prince loses his shield, but an iron creature retrieves it for him.
Author’s Note: Written for
pandanoai's Fairy Tale challenge.
This was heavily adapted from “The Frog King and Iron Heinrich”, the Grimm Brother's version of “The Frog Prince”. The original story was changed around quite a bit because I just couldn't see Steve as a bratty prince and I think Tony wouldn't want him to do anything against his will when it came to their relationship. I've incorporated elements of the Iron Heinrich part of the Grimm's version of the tale, where the king's servant Heinrich had to place three iron bands around his heart to keep it from bursting in grief; they later spring from it when his master is restored. The three metal bands became three parts of the armor and Heinrich transformed into the king himself.
Once upon a time...
