Yes to everything. This movie has small Stevetony moments but with huge significance. I love it.

Steve losing Bucky again was actually the worst possible thing

And the way he looked so lost, and I think he said 'I don't know' when Nat asked what happened (I remember this scene vaguely, feel free to correct me), I don't think I've ever seen Steve so clueless, he always looked like he had a plan, like he was in control. Very refreshing to see this side of Steve. His character development since CACW has been most amazing to see. It's like he's more real.

Yikes, I do not remember this 'greatest defender' moment that everyone's talking about haha

I saw on tumblr it was actually best defender. I thought Steve said greatest, but in my defence I was hardly incoherent when I wrote that XD

My mans Tony and Thor stopping moons and reigniting stars with their damn body!!! About damn time Thor was a god, but I really enjoyed IM's physical fights with Thanos. He basically utilized every military tactic from Roman legion to futuristic lasers and it was ~~perfect~~.

Yes. It was my 2nd fav Thor after Thor 1. I thought he was treated very properly, as a god. And that show of power in Wakanda is just. Damn.
I know nothing about military tactic, I wish I could so I could swoon more XD But yeah Tony was magnificent and crazr brave and even Thanos was impressed. I'm so proud of him.

OKOYE'S JUDGEMENT FACE when Bruce tripped in the Hulkbuster omg!!

XDDD
When I saw that Hulk Buster, I wondered what Steve felt like, seeing that familiar armor so close but Tony's not there T_T

GOD now that I'm trying to remember it exactly I can't remember who said what, but I definitely remember the utter confusion and helplessness from Steve. The "Oh, God." line actually gutted me entirely. Steve Rogers at a loss for words is the worst possible god damn thing.

BUT YES absolutely agreed, even if we didn't get a whole lot of time with him in this movie (which is entirely understandable, considering the size of the cast) I still think they did a perfect job with what little characterization we could witness. The conversations with Vision ("We don't trade lives.") his rebuttal to Ross, TAKING ON THANOS 1V1. HONESTLY. I love Steven Grant Rogers with my whole heart and if I have to watch him die next year I will actually lose it.

Flip phone

Don't forget: Tony not only carries that phone, but keeps it charged too.

Steve pining away in the MCU is my absolute favorite headcanon. XD I can just imagine that he needed to be all like "this isn't my home" and leave to REALIZE that he actually had found something that WAS his home and had turned his back to it. I always thought that in AoU he comes across like someone who is accepting that he won't be happy in the way he wanted to be, so him saying home then is more saying "my place is being Captain America" - and then he gives that up and now he finally means it because maybe he can allow himself to admit that he wants things? Idk. I love the complicated mess he is.

OMG YES. Even when he was jogging? I think? he carried it. And had been for two years. And that conflicted reaction when Bruce asked him to make a call? Gold. I can't believe there were great Stevetony moments and they didn't even share a scene.

Hehe. Right! And it is CHARGED and ready and it's obvious that he has flipped it open a thousand times and stared at it. That is pure gold.

Glad you enjoyed it too!!

Steve calls Tony the world's greatest defender??? Tony has been carrying the phone around ON HIS PERSON for the past two years????? GOD????? the MCU is feeding us table scraps but god if I won't take what I can get

Same! And these were GOOD TABLE SCRAPS, OOOOKAY? XD

I knew in my bones the Peter moment was coming, but that was so, so bad and Tony's lost grieving face... ARGH.

And Steve, oh no. I'm seeing it again later today, so I can take notes on all the anguish.

Haha, same for me. I squeed out loud in the theater, but it was so fast and I had all the feels at once about it.

When I saw that Hulk Buster, I wondered what Steve felt like, seeing that familiar armor so close but Tony's not there T_T

Oh god, why do you give me these feels????

That is one line Steve says to Ross when he and the rest step into the compound. I don't know why, but it stood out to me then!

Yes, I agree that this is basically the build up, now that we had "divided we fall", they can finally get together and fight back and swing this around.

That is an interesting point about that scene with Pepper. I'm going to see it again later, and I think I'll have to pay more attention to what's said there.

I loved Tony employing all the tactics and the way he utilized all the tools at his disposal against such an enemy. I just LOVED the fight scenes with him in this. And the suit is so perfect. T_T

And Thor - he had such sad, sad moments and that made all his awesome god moment EVEN BETTER!! I loved what they did with him, so much.

I also enjoyed the team back on Earth, how back-to-back and united everyone was without creepily setting Steve up as the head of Wakanda's armies or whatever.

I agree. That was very well handled!

OKOYE'S JUDGEMENT FACE when Bruce tripped in the Hulkbuster omg!!

I loved it! XD

LOSING PETER WAS 5 MILLION TIMES WORSE THAN I COULD HAVE EVER ANTICIPATED AND I WILL LITERALLY NEVER FORGIVE MARVEL EVEN IF THEY BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE

but god yeah I'm honestly pleased with what little we did get, I'm sure we'll get our solid reunion in 4, at the very least.

Naturally. ;) It just goes to show how much he cares that he even touches the thing, never mind carrying it with him for two years.

Steve losing Bucky again is the worst thing for him.

And Tony being alone in space, seeing everyone he cares about around him die and being the one left standing is clearly Tony's.

The poor heartbroken boys!

Oh, very nice observation about Steve being so lost at the end! There was no more fighting to be done, no more plan to be made. And I loved that there was no score at the end, all the people just disappearing in almost silence. Really emphasized that they'd already lost, that the fight was over before they knew what was happening.

Thank you :)

And yeah, I went into this with pretty low expectations to be honest, and there were several scenes where I was just impressed with how well all the pieces fell into place.

Steve pining away in the MCU is my absolute favorite headcanon.

THIS. OMG SO MUCH THIS. I wholeheartedly agree that Steve's the one who's pining in the MCU and it makes all their past interactions make so much more sense.

And it is CHARGED and ready and it's obvious that he has flipped it open a thousand times and stared at it.

I can imagine he ranted about where on earth could he get an ancient charger for the frickin flip phone. Rogers was such a dinosaur etc etc
I wonder if he set up a protocol with Friday to make a call to Steve in case of the end of the world because Tony's a fan of back up plans but he carried the flip phone with him anyway because it was a small comfort knowing that Steve would come if he called. And he would hate himself for that. I like pain.

"We don't trade lives."

Thanks for reminding me of that bit! (All of it went by so quickly.) This was a bit like a shared theme, several characters (Strange, Gamora/Peter, Thanos, Wanda,...) had to make that choice in different situations. And it fits that Steve is the one with the principle here.

And I loved that there was no score at the end,

I didn't notice about the score, I was too shocked because it was so sudden XD. But yes I love how they treated the disappearances. Very straightforward but still poetic. No pain (except for those who were left behind lol), or gore stuff, it was just like what Thanos said when he considered it a mercy.

Interesting point about Tony and Pepper's conversation at the beginning! I was too caught up in the content to think about the dream part being significant. Might be a red herring, but still intriguing. ETA: You know, I actually think this points towards the fact that Tony's vision from AoU and his worst nightmares in the wake of New York actually came true in this very movie.

I didn't mind the Tony and Strange interactions, I thought they had a lovely little arc in this - I mean, Tony didn't actually know Strange at all before this and to suddenly be confronted with his worst nightmare and to have this slightly arrogant guy who deals in magic of all things? He's certainly going to be on the defensive for a bit. But I loved that they had actual discussions about plans, that somewhere in the middle, Tony told him very clearly "I've had this guy in my head for six years, this is my plan [to confront Thanos on his own planet to keep him away from earth], but I'm not sure it's the best one, what do you think?" That was great and exactly the kind of thing I wanted from Tony.

And Tony's new suit was awesome indeed, loved the use of nano-technology.

Oh oh and when he walked the halls of the compound, what if so many things reminded him of Tony and maybe he went into Tony's office/ rooms before they flew to Wakanda, just because.

But unlike Tony's vision in AoU, he didn't actually see Steve die in front of him, so at some point he'll get to find out that Steve and the orginal team are all still alive. At least I hope he does. I'm so curious how they are going to play all this in the next one.

I have quite a few guesses based on some comic book stuff, but I'm curious what they'll change there as well since they did change quite a lot already. Thanos himself, for starters, his whole motivation is completely different.

And I would guess that Tony will get on one of the spaceships that should still be around him (Nebula, Guardians) and return to Earth, with hopefully some nice reunions happening there!
