At least we know Tony's going to save everyone in the next part? And the after credits was great. But UGH.

When the credits rolled I was stunned because it didn’t feel that long and it kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. No unnecessary lull that bored me.
I love how it felt like everyone has good parts and not focusing on certain key characters.
I’m kind of glad they didn’t rush the reunion/the talk though, because I had this hope that it would be treated respectfully at the right time, and apparently there was no time at all XD Don’t let me down, Russos! *narrows eyes at Avengers 4*.
Two moments that made me squealed right there at the theater:
When Steve said earth just lost its strongest defender, I assumed he meant Tony???? Bc it was scenes after the anchor scene that mentioned Tony Stark missing???
When Steve said ‘home’ after Sam? asked where to head the quinjet. AND THEY WENT TO COMPOUND AW STEEEVE I was so worried that they were going to Wakanda.
RHODEY! Rhodey looking out for Sam!!!! And looking for Sam at the end T_T
What happened was totally what Strange saw on that one scenario that they won though. That schemer.
Tony’s new suit. I thought there was gonna be Sailor Moon-like transformation or something, but that’s okay that there wasn’t bc it was awesome????
I thought Thanos was a good villain. I like that he was a goal-driven villain and not power-hungry, and that he stopped when he’s achieved his goal.
Pls excuse the incoherency. This movie really shook me

(Anonymous) 2018-04-27 05:38 am (UTC)(link)I loved that we had such unexpected combinations - Thor & Rocket, wtf, I adored their interactions - and the plot and, well, Thanos. Great villain there.
I thought Steve meant Tony too and Tony always carries the phone with him and he's still so torn about the whole thing. And home is the Compound! Two years after and it's still hooome.
I don't think it's too insane to hope for more material next movie - after all, Strange's plan seemed to hinge on Tony surviving and all the original Avengers seem to be alive - plus it's a great starting point for fic.

SAME!!! And when after all his "the Avengers mean more to you than me" speeches in CW him "going home" there WAS SO GOOD!! And then it was actually the compound! I'm still so glad about that.
I also still love that Tony, while he never gets to make that call, CARRIED the phone around.
My husband laughed at me for squealing at all of these.
I loved the Rhodey and Sam bits, too!!!

With his words at the end, that HAS to be it. We better get Tony and the gauntlet next time and Strange having protected him, because THAT IS THE scenario that saves them next time. *wibbles*
I had my worried about Thanos, but I agree. He was a good villain.
And after credit's scene! Carol! GIVE ME!

I really liked that they didn't force the confrontation here. I hope that means there'll be a nice reuninon in Av4, but even just now this whole movie felt like an epic statement on "Avengers should work together", and specifically "Tony and Steve need to work together to solve this".
Rhodey looking out for Sam was so great! Did he call him "Sammy" at one point or did I mishear?
ANyway. I have all the feels and I had a blast.

Steve calls Tony the world's greatest defender??? Tony has been carrying the phone around ON HIS PERSON for the past two years????? GOD????? the MCU is feeding us table scraps but god if I won't take what I can get
(Steve losing Bucky again was actually the worst possible thing, plus Tony losing Peter right after alskdfjsldkfjasd I WAS A SOBBING MESS IN THE THEATER)

And the way he looked so lost, and I think he said 'I don't know' when Nat asked what happened (I remember this scene vaguely, feel free to correct me), I don't think I've ever seen Steve so clueless, he always looked like he had a plan, like he was in control. Very refreshing to see this side of Steve. His character development since CACW has been most amazing to see. It's like he's more real.

Same! And these were GOOD TABLE SCRAPS, OOOOKAY? XD
I knew in my bones the Peter moment was coming, but that was so, so bad and Tony's lost grieving face... ARGH.
And Steve, oh no. I'm seeing it again later today, so I can take notes on all the anguish.

I LOVE that both Steve & Tony are sitting on their respective plantes angsting like hell! <3

Anyway, good moments: The Phone Drama--my god, it was gay. Tony stuttering over how he and Steve aren't talking and Bruce in total disbelief. Steve's longing expressions of longing. I do wish Tony and Stephen got along...like Tony has spent 6 years planning defense and begging everyone to get in on it, so why make him douchey and hostile at Dr. Strange when shit's actually going down? @mcu end this trope
My mans Tony and Thor stopping moons and reigniting stars with their damn body!!! About damn time Thor was a god, but I really enjoyed IM's physical fights with Thanos. He basically utilized every military tactic from Roman legion to futuristic lasers and it was ~~perfect~~.
I also enjoyed the team back on Earth, how back-to-back and united everyone was without creepily setting Steve up as the head of Wakanda's armies or whatever. Cackled at Steve and T'challa nyooooming it before the armies.
OKOYE'S JUDGEMENT FACE when Bruce tripped in the Hulkbuster omg!!
Not sure what was up with Thanos' backstory tho? I don't understand how to feel about it, so imma just leave it. I didn't expect the ending, but it was more confounding than emotional, really. Definitely had a 'ooh wonder what's gonna happen next' feel to it, so I'm not too broken up. All in all, it left me wanting the Avengers 4! <3

I saw on tumblr it was actually best defender. I thought Steve said greatest, but in my defence I was hardly incoherent when I wrote that XD
Yes. It was my 2nd fav Thor after Thor 1. I thought he was treated very properly, as a god. And that show of power in Wakanda is just. Damn.
I know nothing about military tactic, I wish I could so I could swoon more XD But yeah Tony was magnificent and crazr brave and even Thanos was impressed. I'm so proud of him.
XDDD
When I saw that Hulk Buster, I wondered what Steve felt like, seeing that familiar armor so close but Tony's not there T_T

Yes, I agree that this is basically the build up, now that we had "divided we fall", they can finally get together and fight back and swing this around.
That is an interesting point about that scene with Pepper. I'm going to see it again later, and I think I'll have to pay more attention to what's said there.
I loved Tony employing all the tactics and the way he utilized all the tools at his disposal against such an enemy. I just LOVED the fight scenes with him in this. And the suit is so perfect. T_T
And Thor - he had such sad, sad moments and that made all his awesome god moment EVEN BETTER!! I loved what they did with him, so much.
I also enjoyed the team back on Earth, how back-to-back and united everyone was without creepily setting Steve up as the head of Wakanda's armies or whatever.
I agree. That was very well handled!
OKOYE'S JUDGEMENT FACE when Bruce tripped in the Hulkbuster omg!!
I loved it! XD

(Anonymous) 2018-04-29 02:50 am (UTC)(link)But there are two things that got me thinking. One was that Tony never got the chance to fight at the side of the original team, like at all (Bruce couldn't even transform back then, but at lest there was an small Bruce and Tony warm moment), what leads me to think that in Avengers 4 all the team will get back together.
Two, Thanos KNEW WHO TONY WAS. Like, the moment Thanos said "Stark" it felt like a punch in the face to me (and probably to Tony too), how did Thanos knew? Was it because of the stones or he send spies to earth? There is something fishy about that.
Another small detail is Red Skull cameo, I always wondered what the hell happened to him, now we know.
Loki saying "We got a Hulk" was pure gold.
And finally, despite how awesome and breathtaking the movie was, it practically killed all the new ships that involved Tony: no StarkQuill, IronStrange, Stucky and IronPanther, there will only be Stony from the time being.

As for Thanos knowing Tony, didn't he say something along the lines that he, too, is cursed with knowing? Maybe this is a hint that Tony has something that Thanos has too, something that lets him wield the stones? Because it felt that Strange traded the stone for Tony because in the one outcome they won in, Tony was there. Tony was needed. Maybe because Tony is the only one who can wield all stones without being consumed by it as well?

Tony and Strange's interactions were amazing. Two very skilled, arrogant men trying to do what they think is best and working together.
Peter's "I saw this really old movie. It was called Aliens." OMG, I feel old. And Tony's look!
The only problem I had was that they didn't just cut Thanos' arm off. Like, why go to that all trouble of trying to get the gauntlet off? Just cut the arm off and be done with it!
And I was ready to strangle Starlord when he woke Thanos up! Like, up, Peter, really? I know you're grieving, but you just messed everything up!
Sorry if this rambled, but I have feels!

And oh god, yes, what the hell was that Quill, you could have punished him to your heart's content AFTER he lost the freaking Gauntlet.

Second thing: I'm not an anti, I really love Pepper and I think in a not!super world they could work, but in this movie, they enlightened the reason I don't see Pepper/Tony works. You can't still be bothered by something so important for Tony! Am I the only?
Third thing: Peter!!! ç_____ç

I can't see the woman who went along with SHIELD agents and helped Tony stop Obadiah (in many ways) in the first movie or that stayed and helped taking down Hammer and coordinating the evacuation as someone hating Iron Man. Maybe she's scared (for Tony and of the Iron Man, in a sense), but I still don't feel that is doing the character justice. She is kickass in her own way and it feels, to me, that they're taking it away from her by making her the nagging wife trope.
