Yes, he probably built something to make it easier to charge "the stupid thing" and grumbled about it while he did it. XD

I can totally imagine that he would take comfort from carrying the thing around - not that he would EVER admit it.

Yeah, I agree it was really well done for a story about such a big cast. Everyone got to shine a little and show their skills and convictions. I expected to be disappointed in that regard and instead it really surprised me how well all characters were handled.

Yeah, god, the way Tony catches him in his arms and everything... so much PAIN. T_T

I didn't mind the Tony and Strange interactions, I thought they had a lovely little arc in this - I mean, Tony didn't actually know Strange at all before this and to suddenly be confronted with his worst nightmare and to have this slightly arrogant guy who deals in magic of all things? He's certainly going to be on the defensive for a bit. But I loved that they had actual discussions about plans, that somewhere in the middle, Tony told him very clearly "I've had this guy in my head for six years, this is my plan [to confront Thanos on his own planet to keep him away from earth], but I'm not sure it's the best one, what do you think?" That was great and exactly the kind of thing I wanted from Tony.

I just wanted to say how much I agree with every word of this! I just saw it again and this time it even hit me harder that despite them being confrontational Tony turns it around by laying out his reasons for not jumping right into action to get them back to earth. When he asks, "Doctor, do you concur?" that in itself is such a profound character moment. And then Strange lays out how his first duty is to protect the Infinity Stone whatever happens to Peter or Tony - and that is such an important character moment for him, and I loved how it ends with Tony basically agreeing. ("Good, moral compass.")

It's all so fraught with tension, but I think it is very strongly built around the foundations of these characters and explains why the end up working pretty well together pretty quickly - even though they're not friends.

Yes, all of this! I generally loved that, given how much stress he was under, Tony was comparatively clear and open about his own thoughts and emotions and how they might be affecting him? Trying to keep his head and taking in everything that was happening and that other people were saying. Guy has done some soul-searching over the last few years me thinks.

Also, re: Tony laying out his reasons - they made so much sense for him. Civil War especially was all about the collateral damage that fighting on earth does and he just saw parts of New York getting damaged again - of course he'd try to have the battle somewhere else.

"Good, moral compass."

Yes. Loved that moment. And he was so caught on the wrong foot when Strange didn't seem to honour that later.

I loved it to bits too!! Everything! (My jaw dropped open when that was where they ended) I thought it was very entertaining. I had very few "needs" from this movie and they were all met (i.e. Steve & Tony surviving being a biggie)

I really liked that they didn't force the confrontation here. I hope that means there'll be a nice reuninon in Av4, but even just now this whole movie felt like an epic statement on "Avengers should work together", and specifically "Tony and Steve need to work together to solve this".

Rhodey looking out for Sam was so great! Did he call him "Sammy" at one point or did I mishear?

ANyway. I have all the feels and I had a blast.

Steve pining away in the MCU is my absolute favorite headcanon. XD

OMG this. I mean, the news about Tony & Pepper must be all over the tv so he knows about it and he's just piiiiining. :D I love that to bits.

And also the part that Tony had an unanswered message on that phone (someone grabbed a screenshot) which means that Steve tried to reach Tony again!

I just really enjoy how Steve "loves and admires" Tony from afar, OKAY? XD

(yay more fans!)

Yes! I loved this movie so much. I went in expecting to be okay with it, and as the movie progressed I was more and more going "oh hey i'm really...loving this?? sofar?? yep? still?? loving it???" and after I walked out I felt so... satisfied with the level of pain delivered.

I LOVE that both Steve & Tony are sitting on their respective plantes angsting like hell! <3

It's around the time when they head to the compound, I think? (I only saw it once). But like, everyone had a shot of Tony's photo on TV so people know he went up into space along with the alien ship.

And then when they head back to the compound either when Steve is talking to Ross or around that time, he just says that (about the best defender... )

I really loved that despite all the sniping between Strange and Tony, there was this moment of genuine care when Tony rushed over to him, when Stephen was locked in his hell-vision of all the millions of futures. And Tony, who can spot a panic attack from a mile away, thinks that's what's happening and calls out to him something like "You're okay, you're back!" This is to a guy he doesn't like at all. Tony just cares SO MUCH.

OKOYE'S JUDGEMENT FACE when Bruce tripped in the Hulkbuster omg!!

The best.

Oh and about the dreams/reality conversation with Pepper, I thought it was meant to foreshadow the way his nightmare came through. He explicitly says that he had Thanos in his head for years, so now it became a reality.

(Also Pepper's little grab for his hand when Strange showed up was really good too. She's SO not ready for what happens next.)

I kind of wonder if Tony even knows that ANYONE from Earth survived. Like, he knows Nebula is alive, but everyone from Earth was wiped away. He doesn't know it was half the people, does he? Only Gamora knows that, I think?

The Avengers on earth know that some people survived because at least Steve, Nat, Thor, Bruce are still around...but to Tony, the only reason he is alive is because Strange traded the Infinity Stone for him. I think Tony doesn't know there's anyone alive on Earth at that point.... Yikes.

I loved it. I don't have the energy to type up my own reaction post, so I'll just keep responding to comments here. But I thought it was hugely entertaining and it gave me basically the dynamic I wanted (pining Steve, reluctant Tony, heroes the both of them) along with some fun action and humour. I definitely look forward to what comes next now!

I really enjoyed the movie, it was a good stab to the feels you know?
Also I get to translate all my “Steve Thinks Tony is Dead” feelings from AA onto the MCU

Agreed with everyone else pretty much.

I think Thanos’s plan is dumb but idk if that was intentional or not. He claims to be doing everyone a favor by killing half the universe but that’s going to have major consequences. Power vacuums, Civil Wars(not the Marvel kind), loss of a good chunk of the work force, new orphans with no source of income, those are all just as bad for society as overpopulation could be. Not to mention there’s nothing stopping overpopulation from happening again assuming the other stuff doesn’t kill everyone first.

Then again he is the “mad Titan” so like maybe we were supposed to find his plan completely illogical and insane? Idk how I feel

Well, I can't say nothing that hasn't been already told, Tony's new amazing armor, carrying Steve's phone all this time, Tony's intense moments with Strange and Quill (those were my favorites), Tony always looking out for Peter, fighting Thanos with everything he got, a blast after blast and one wondering how things would end. And the rest of the cast were awesome too.

But there are two things that got me thinking. One was that Tony never got the chance to fight at the side of the original team, like at all (Bruce couldn't even transform back then, but at lest there was an small Bruce and Tony warm moment), what leads me to think that in Avengers 4 all the team will get back together.

Two, Thanos KNEW WHO TONY WAS. Like, the moment Thanos said "Stark" it felt like a punch in the face to me (and probably to Tony too), how did Thanos knew? Was it because of the stones or he send spies to earth? There is something fishy about that.

Another small detail is Red Skull cameo, I always wondered what the hell happened to him, now we know.

Loki saying "We got a Hulk" was pure gold.

And finally, despite how awesome and breathtaking the movie was, it practically killed all the new ships that involved Tony: no StarkQuill, IronStrange, Stucky and IronPanther, there will only be Stony from the time being.

I loved this movie, even if it did feel like a punch to the gut sometimes.

Tony and Strange's interactions were amazing. Two very skilled, arrogant men trying to do what they think is best and working together.

Peter's "I saw this really old movie. It was called Aliens." OMG, I feel old. And Tony's look!

The only problem I had was that they didn't just cut Thanos' arm off. Like, why go to that all trouble of trying to get the gauntlet off? Just cut the arm off and be done with it!

And I was ready to strangle Starlord when he woke Thanos up! Like, up, Peter, really? I know you're grieving, but you just messed everything up!

Sorry if this rambled, but I have feels!

Didn't Thanos say that in his presence as well? I would need to see it again, but I thought Tony knew as well that that was his end goal. But I might misremember things, maybe someone else can give us more clarity :D

I was wondering too why they didn't cut it off, but maybe they know of some rule of the Infinity Stones and the one who wears them we don't? Maybe they can't while he wears them? Or they were worried what could happen if they did that and there's one last movement activating them or something.

And oh god, yes, what the hell was that Quill, you could have punished him to your heart's content AFTER he lost the freaking Gauntlet.

My theory is that they get their hands on at least the Time Stone somehow and reverse things to the point that they are all together and fight together. We saw the "Devided we fall" part, I think the second part is "Together we stand".

As for Thanos knowing Tony, didn't he say something along the lines that he, too, is cursed with knowing? Maybe this is a hint that Tony has something that Thanos has too, something that lets him wield the stones? Because it felt that Strange traded the stone for Tony because in the one outcome they won in, Tony was there. Tony was needed. Maybe because Tony is the only one who can wield all stones without being consumed by it as well?

First thing: I'm quoting everything said above.
Second thing: I'm not an anti, I really love Pepper and I think in a not!super world they could work, but in this movie, they enlightened the reason I don't see Pepper/Tony works. You can't still be bothered by something so important for Tony! Am I the only?
Third thing: Peter!!! ç_____ç
