Hello! Always nice to see new people jump in!! :D

I loved the Tony and Bruce meeting too and also that Bruce was the one who called the rest finally.

I was still happy with what the movie did with the both of them, showing us very clearly where they are at and what they think about each other, all of which made sense to me.

Yes. I was sad that they didn't at least get an interrupted phone call, because I think Steve going "Tony? Tony??? Tony?!!!" without getting an answer would have killed me. But I think that despite them not talking the film managed to show where they are with each other. I think I liked what we got better than I would have a rushed reconciliation that just ignores all of their issues and then jumps over what happened in CW completely.

I was pretty thrown, in a good way, by both the "defender" comment and the "home" from Steve, I would not have expected that. And while I'm not usually fond of "interrupted right before a character can do/say the important thing" plot devices, I also felt like there wasn't time and space for a reconciliation in this movie.

True. It was so packed and with the big cast there wasn't much time to do it justice.

I'm glad who wasn't the only one the small bits we got resonated with. XD

God same. My husband

Yes, that was a nice moment, when Tony was gone and he picked it out of the rubble. Bruce was great throughout the whole movie, I really liked his scenes with everyone and his struggle with the Hulk.

And I thought it was a storytelling feat to pull this many characters and movie strands together and not only have a coherent plot, but actually have lots of characters scenes and interactions that made sense for where all these people were coming from. Which means that I enjoyed all the Steve and Tony scenes no matter who they were with, because it felt like the movie did them right.

Plus, the set-up for post-movie fanfic is pretty good and I like that this puts Steve and Tony in a different position from where they were at the end of CW - not via reconciliation yet but via lots of other stuff happening to them and therefore changing where they are at mentally and emotionally.

Hi there! I really enjoyed reading your comments, they were very eloquently put :)

This. It blew my mind seeing this movie because apparently, ensemble superhero movies could be a good movie. I honestly did not expect it to be this good, having seen Avengers 1&2 and JL. And yes, it didn't even cross my mind to hope for a shared scene between Steve and Tony because I was too excited in following the plot. It was a really good writing.

I agree. This movie is perfect catalyst to speed up the making up process, but in a respectful way. This problem is bigger than their shared ones. And whatever still left unresolved between them would seem much less significant than saving earth and hopefully they would be much more amenable to make up and move on.

Thank you :)

And yeah, I went into this with pretty low expectations to be honest, and there were several scenes where I was just impressed with how well all the pieces fell into place.

Yeah, I agree it was really well done for a story about such a big cast. Everyone got to shine a little and show their skills and convictions. I expected to be disappointed in that regard and instead it really surprised me how well all characters were handled.
