garrideb: Cap and Iron Man hug and fly (steve/tony flying)
[personal profile] garrideb
Welcome to the [community profile] cap_ironman/[livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman newsletter. Marvel has teamed up with kitchenware company Williams-Sonoma to produce superhero-themed cookie cutters and cake pans. It looks like each set has a Steve and a Tony, which is delightful. No superheroines, though. They've also released a digital comic in which Jarvis and the Avengers teach kids to cook while fighting bad guys. If the idea tickles you, well, you aren't alone; website ComicsAlliance wrote product-placement fanfic in honor of this partnership.

In really awesome news, Marvel is releasing a free audiobook of Daredevil #1, with panel descriptions narrated by Captain America: Man out of Time writer Mark Waid. This project was created with visually-impaired fans in mind.

This week's activity behind the cut... )

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments. If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [personal profile] muccamukk, or [personal profile] valtyr.

Title: No Promise Of Eternity
Author/Artist: *raises hand* I claim responsibility for this.
Summary: Tony is dying and lying. And then it gets worse.
Pairings/Characters: Tony/Steve after the first chapter.
Universe: Some sort of ambigous time in 616 prior to Civil War.
Rating: PG-13/T for drug use and angst.
Warnings: Death is discussed. And comes close to happening. Some swearing. Alcohol usage in later chapters. Um... I don't really think anything else needs warned for, but tell me if it does.
Beta: None.
A/N: A very terrifying idea my brother had after seeing movie!Tony's actions when he was dying. Because this pairing doesn't have enough bad angst-fic. Future chapters will be longer.
