Weekly IRC Chat Time!

Today's Chat starts out with a special topic -- the BB art claims! They start today at roughly 08:00am PDT (What time is that for me?). That's in less than an hour!

Everyone is welcome for the excitement whether you are a reader, writer or artist. Authors, just remember not to reveal which fic is yours and wait for the official confirmation e-mail before you contact an artist. If you are an artist and want to participate check out the official post.

After that it will be back to Steve and Tony socialization and chatting. And remember, as always, lurkers are welcome.

Next chat is planned for Sunday, October 4th. Don't forget that you can log into the irc channel at any point during the week. Normally, there will be other people around.

As a reminder we have a channel #cap-im-spoilers for conversations about new tv episodes, comic book issues and other spoilers. If no one is currently in there, just stop by the regular channel and let people know you want to talk about spoilers. :) To get to this channel use the same method you would for #cap-im but type #cap-im-spoilers instead; alternatively, once you are connected to IRC, type '/join #cap-im-spoilers' in the command line.



The #cap-im and #cap-im-spoilers IRC channels are on DALnet. If you’re using a regular irc client the server is irc.dal.net and the channel is #cap-im and/or #cap-im-spoilers. There are three different options below of web clients. If one doesn't work try a different one.

Got to https://kiwiirc.com/client. Type in the nickname you wish to use. The channel name is #cap-im or #cap-im-spoilers. There will be a little blue link that opens up the server and network info. Click on that and enter irc.dal.net as the server and 6667 as the port. Here is an example of what it looked like when I filled it out.


Teyke found yet another web client option if the two above aren't working. Go to http://www.wsirc.com/ and fill out the box to the right like Teyke's example below.


The http://www.dal.net/ web client sometimes doesn't working, but people still have used it successfully to join the the chat. Under Chat Now fill in your nickname, and #cap-im or #cap-im-spoilers.

Summary: She doesn't have the words for how frustrating it is to want this man close to her, to feel like she trusts him intimately, but her body rebels and something in her brain kicks into fight-or-flight when they get too close.

Author's Notes: This is set in the future of Starring Role 'verse, Steve and Toni are together. This story is written in present tense and without dialogue — it's more of an introspective piece.

I'm not quite sure how to label warnings for this, just be aware that it's potentially triggering. Toni has repeated panic attacks when she and Steve try to have sex. Steve does not push the issue. Mentioned past dubious consent/non-con.

Title comes from Vitamin C's "Turn Me On", which is haunting. Also debated on skimming a line from Joydrop's "Spiders" which is in a similar vein.
