2020 Rec Week: Tell-All Thursday!

Today, we want to hear about your favourite canon moments and why you love Steve/Tony! Send through your most beloved gifs, the artist that made you fall in love with the pairing, the writer or fic that opened your eyes… Share the explainer or meta post that convinced you to ship Steve/Tony, or create a ship manifesto of your own! It's Tell-All Thursday, and we're looking forward to seeing what you have to say! We would also love to hear about your SteveTony highlights of 2012, if you were in the fandom back then

Note: Please mark major warnings for your recs, and if you have time, let us know why you’re reccing a work.

I don't think there's one specific fic or art work or meta post that 'convinced' me to ship them - they kind of made me ship them all by themselves, starting with the MCU right after CA:CW, and then expanding into comics and other universes. (Which, by the way, definitely a feature: you get several version of them, which are all distinctly Steve and Tony, but they are also all specific to their universe and not interchangeable.)
This jump from MCU into comics was very much helped by [personal profile] sineala's posts, though, which included all her fics (always with canon references in the notes, too) as well as her helpful rec list across universes (also very useful for universe overview purposes) and her posts on starting points for comic reading, like this essential stony reading one or this favourite tony and steve arcs one (still have these two bookmarked because I haven't actually read all of the stuff mentioned in them).

Plus, reccing one piece of art here: [tumblr.com profile] hellogarbagetime's 616!Steve/Tony shaving scene. I love everything about it, but I guess one of the main aspects of it is trust. Which in turn is one of the key themes in their relationship for me, in all its complexity. For example, you get implicit trust and understanding on one hand, but also these instances of conflict where both personal issues as well as differing worldviews and big picture problems can throw a wrench in that trust and bury it, or fracture it for a while. (One of the many reasons I loved Endgame so much for their relationship is that it made that theme explicit.)
