EW'S FIRST LOOK-Chris Evans as Captain America
*Mods: I hope this works! It's been awhile since I inserted anything on LJ...*

Quote from article, out tomorrow on newsstands
“At the time, I remember telling a buddy of mine, ‘If the movie bombs, I’m f—-ed. If the movie hits, I’m f—-ed!’” After declining the part three times, Evans took a meeting with Marvel execs and Johnston and was dazzled by their plans for the movie. He still felt wary about suiting up for Captain America — but then he had an epiphany. “I was just scared,” he says. “I realized my whole decision making process was fear based, and you never want to make a decision out of fear.’” Evans signed a six-picture deal with Marvel to play the character, and he has no regrets: “I can’t believe was almost too chicken to play Captain America.”

The jaw! The shoulders! The hair!
Hi, Cap!

Chris is TOTALLY Cap. The hair is just... perfect! And he's all red white and blue steel looking at the camera!
I really, really think they're gonna do justice to Steve Rogers. Can't wait until next year.

He. Is. Steve Rogers. I need this movie to do a bazillion dollars so everyone will finally get why I love Cap so much.
Now... article needs to give us Bucky. Like yesterday.

Damn, Evans is looking good. I mean, he looked good at ComicCon, but he's looking really fantastic here.

I would pay for six movies of that. Oh yes. I'm not entirely sure they could script so badly I wouldn't call it worth it, as long as he grinned like he does in the photo at least once per film.
Best of Marvel's recent marketing decisions. No contest.

From the article:
"Feige says he was actually impressed by Evans' reluctance; he believed it reflected a maturity befitting Steve Rogers. Adds Johnston, "He has really brought a whole different level to the character that I didn't know existed- more real, more complicated, more vulnerable."
STEEEEEEEEEEEEVE.

Even if the movie were to bomb (which I hope it won't), there will be eye candy.
Its cool!!
