It's Women's History Month!

muccamukkWell, in some countries anyway. Besides that, Marvel's called this their Year of the Woman, which is going... surprisingly well, actually, given it's Marvel. I've been quite enjoying Girl Comics (despite the name) and the spotlight one shots like X-23 that are starting to come out, and I'm looking forward to Heralds like crazy.
One of the things I've always loved about this comm is that it's a slash fandom that's pretty much down with the canon women. I have been in other fandoms where this is not the case, and it's just so refreshing to run into here.
In celebration of both of those things, the mod team thought it might be fun to have a Women of Captain America and Iron Man Squee-a-thon.
We've put together a list of significant women in both those titles, plus alternate universes with Steve and Tony. It's not exclusive, but it gives a start. We thought that people might claim a woman they loved from Cap or IM canon, pick a date, and post a squee post about her. Stick on a couple pictures, write about favourite moments of awesome, tell her story, link to fic. It doesn't have to be huge. Even "I love Rikki Barnes! Look at her here kicking people in the head. This fic is great!" can cover it.
Alternately, pick a date and post a squee post about your favourite moments with different women (like a round up of Steve being adorably awkward around women, or Tony's silliest overly-extravagant romantic gestures to to get a date with a woman).
We'll try to do one a post a day until we run out of squee.
Comments and squee on posts by all is encouraged and delighted in. Reply to another person's post with your own favourite moments or things you like about the character. Say "OMG! THIS!" Post sparkly hearts. Whatever works for you.
Important note #1: Because this is a squee-a-thon, please do not reply to a love post with negative comments (we're not banning free speech from the comm or anything, but for this, please don't harsh the squee). I know that you're not going to like every woman that someone squees over, but please respect that other people do. If you don't like say Bernie, maybe post about a woman you do like instead (though please not by saying something to the effect of "Connie = WAY better than Bernie, who sucks!").
Important note #2: Please remember to lock posts with scans. Covers are okay.
