Universe: AU - 1940s film noir
Rating: g
Warnings: none

Title: my car is outside (naturally)
Artist: Beren ([info]vulpesvortex) (berendoes on tumblr)
Pairings/Characters: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark
A/N: In which Steve and Tony do Notorious (1946), and I make Tony quote Ingrid Bergman because he totally has Alicia’s sass. Also, I’m a sucker for steve/tony plots where they don’t admit they’re in love until it’s too late and imagining them saying some of the lines from this film to each other breaks my heart in the best way possible.

Hello and welcome to the weekly [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman/[community profile] cap_ironman newsletter, where we will answer such pressing questions as Tony Stark, Top or Bottom? Does Steve Rogers know how to dance? and Will LJ ever stop being broken?

Okay, I'm actually prepared to answer precisely none of those questions, but I do have quite a bit of news this week.

On a personal note, as of Tuesday, 1 November, I'm taking an assignment on the Island with Little or No Internet, and won't back until December. In the meantime, probably best to PM [personal profile] garrideb or [personal profile] valtyr for questions or concerns regarding the comm.

Most important of all: Secret Santa Sign-ups! They're open, check them out!

Ever poke around the Marvel movie site? There's very little actual information on it, but I did find this list of all movies set in the Marvel universe, or at least all movies they're willing to admit to. I see the '90s Cap movie isn't on there.

In terms of actual movie news, Iron Man 3 is in pre-production, and director Shane Black has a few tidbits regarding its themes and how it will tie in with Avengers. Captain America: The First Avenger is out on DVD and BlueRay, and has handily outsold everything else this week. Who's got it yet? Any outstanding special features?

IGN has an article speculating on the future of the Marvel film franchise and if it's leading to an event like Civil War. I would think Avengers 3 would be more likely, personally, but then they wouldn't have space to properly fix it, either. Hmmm... Dear Marvel Studios: Please don't kill Cap.

Oh, probably old news to most of you, but has any one seen the Sweded Avengers Trailer? I can't decide what I like most, Thor's wig or Natasha's.

Speaking of old news, Marvel solicits are out for January. I'm in Deep Dark Mourning over the cancellation of Iron Man 2.0, but it looks like there's some interesting stuff going on in Avengers in the coming months.

If you're reading Captain America and Bucky, you may want to check out Marvel.com's interview with new co-writer James Asmus, or take a look at the unlettered preview art for CA&B #624. More questions I'm not prepared to answer: Who is the mysterious narrator? What's up with Natasha's eye shadow?

Finally, some lovely work in progress/preview art from Daniel Acuña's upcoming run on Avengers. Why so grumpy, Steve?

Whew! Lots of stuff to round up, too. )

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments (Now at one hundred and fifty moments). If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [personal profile] garrideb and [personal profile] valtyr.

If you have recs for Steve/Tony material not found on the comm, we'd love to know about them. Also feel free to post on-topic or off-topic stuff in the comments to this post! Just keep it reasonably safe for work, please.

OKAY! Sign-ups for our fic and art exchange are open! Please read the whole post before signing up. We try to make this as user-friendly as possible, so everyone gets prompts they can write. Please let us know if you have any problems at all, so we can try and fix them.

We're making a small change to the rules this year. The rule last year was that you could only have one prompt from each continuity that wasn't 616. So you could have pick "616, 616, 616" or "616, MA, Movieverse" or "Zombies, 1602, House of M-verse." This year, as there is now a movie-verse Cap, the rule is that you can only have one prompt from each continuity that isn't 616 or Movieverse. So you can have all three prompts from movieverse, all three from 616, or a variety of universes - but you can't have three 1602 prompts, or two Zombies prompts. This is to ensure we can match up prompts to artists/authors.

A reiteration of the rules, and the sign-up format, under the jump.

Okay then! Queries can be sent either to the fic exchange email, or put here in the comments.

Title: Drinking Games
Author/Artist: [livejournal.com profile] kahn
Rating: Teen
Universe: movie!verse
Pairings/Characters: Tony Stark x Peter Parker (sort of); Tony Stark x Steve Rogers Pre-Slash UST; people talking about sex so, lots of implied pairings. Team!fic (so everyone's here!) and cameos from other characters in the Marvel movie!verses.
Warnings: Please note the U in the above mention of UST. Also drunken kissing.
Word Count: ~2600
A/N: This is supposed to take place in the movie!verse, but I'm not sure all the characterizations are quite right. The timeline is...around-abouts the first Avenger movie or shortly thereafter.
Summary: Steve thinks drinking with the team will be a good bonding session for their newest Avenger, but, as usually happens with his people and alcohol, things go kinda sideways.
Beta: Thank you [livejournal.com profile] nightwalker!

Filled for the [livejournal.com profile] capkink meme.

Both are Steve/Tony (Avengers 2012 movieverse) and both are rated PG for language/suggestiveness.

Title: In the Attic
Genre: Fluffy angst

Title: Battery
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] neomeruru

What's it like to lick a living battery? Steve finds out.

Title: Stop, Drop, and Cuddle
Pairing: Steve/Tony, +Hulk, +Fury, +Thor
Word Count: 2,001
Rating: PG
Summary: Written for this prompt on the [info]avengers_kink: right, so, there are sick tony prompts everywhere, and steve can't technically get sick with "terrestrial diseases" so let's stick him with an extraterrestrial disease of some sort - maybe he catches an asgardian flu or something. so, yeah, it requires a bit of screwing around to make it work, but sick!steve - is tony a competent caretaker or a horrible nurse? can be pre-relationship or during. pre- might actually be funnier.
Warnings: none
A/N: Forgot to clean this up and post. Here you go! Enjoy.

Hell, Thor went around pressing great, smacking kisses to everyone's mouth every time he discovered a new type of deli meat

title: something in your mouth
author: sleeponrooftops
fandom: Marvel movie-verse
pairing(s): Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Peter Parker/Bruce Banner
rating: nc17
pov(s): third
summary: It all started with a curious question.  Peter just had to know, and so he commandeered the camera room with Bruce.
warning(s): SO MUCH SEX, language
disclaimer: Don’t own.  Title belongs to Nickelback.
notes: seriously, I don’t know.

When Peter sneaks into the security room the next morning, he’s early, and he tries to convince himself it isn’t because he practically ran down here.  He avoided Bruce all the day before, and said they could skip that night; Bruce had smirked at him.  But now here he is, legs folded underneath him (in a ridiculous attempt to pretend he isn’t going to shift later), and with the TV on.
