Hey y'all! With GOTG2 coming out, Marvel Puzzle Quest is doing a side-promo for a free trial month of Marvel Unlimited. If you've got some back-issues you want to read, go to the Marvel Unlimited sign-up page and use the code MPQGOTG2 to sign up by May 10th! (Beware, auto-renewal applies, so if you don't want to pay after the month is up, you'll have to go and cancel your subscription before then.)

If you haven't heard about Marvel Unlimited, it allows access to all Marvel comics that they have in the Unlimited database, which contains (according to the stories) over 20,000 older issues. It's a great and cheap way to read older stories that would otherwise be expensive or difficult to track down. It doesn't have everything, but so long as you're subscribed, you can read as many comics in the database as you like. It's usually about $10 a month.

It's been a busy time at Cap-Iron Man, and with two events just around the corner it looks like there will be plenty to do in the SteveTony fandom for the next few months! Writers and artists are wrapping up their Big Bang entries (see the fanworks below for links to the works that have posted so far) and the holiday exchange is in full swing with a deadline scheduled for 7pm PDT Wednesday, December 18th (10pm Eastern, 3am Thursday UTC). If you have questions about your assignment, please check the extended FAQ or contact the mods via email, tumblr or lj. If you would like to sign up as a pinch-hitter for the Exchange, please email cap.im.mods@gmail.com by December 18 as well. Gifts will begin to be revealed on the weekend of the 26th. See this post for more information about pinch hits, dropping, author reveals and more. If you're not participating in the exchange but still want to do something holiday-themed, checkout the #12daysofstevetony on tumblr!

STONY Bingo is still open for anyone who wants to try their hand at completing a line (or more!) before January 31st, and soon we'll have both the new Remix Challenge and the Reverse Bang kicking off with official schedules, rules, chats and inspiration posts. Remix Sign-ups will start January 1st and go through January 10th. More information about the schedule can be found in this post. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] navaan, [livejournal.com profile] capneverever and @downeyjraddict for taking on moderation of the Remix Challenge, and also to @goddramit, [livejournal.com profile] iloome and @kteaanne for volunteering their time for the Reverse Bang.

Housekeeping this month includes a reminder about tagging for community posts on livejournal. All fanwork posts should be tagged for creator's name, universe, challenge (if applicable) and rating, and we also encourage genre and type of fanwork tags (fic/art/fanmix etc). We have recently added a fix-it genre tag, and can add new creator tags upon request. For anyone interested in either being or finding a beta, we are compiling an updated beta reader list in this post. Also, we're accepting any ideas or submissions people have for new moments (we've missed a lot over the last few years!) in this post on lj, and in the #slashy moments list tag on tumblr for comics, AA, EMH, and the MCU. If you know a good gifset or photoset or want to make one of your own favorite stevetony moments, feel free to show us. Or just tag it on tumblr!

In Marvel news, the new Captain America: Civil War trailer dropped a few weeks ago, Invincible Iron Man is going strong with 4 issues so far, Bendis has released the cover of issue #8, and has given an interview and released art about an upcoming Marvel Event, Civil War II. The Avengers Academy game is inspiring lots of art on tumblr (character descriptions and the game trailer can be found here), and Marvel also released an animated special for the holiday season, Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight! You can read about it and watch the trailer here.

Most of the fanworks in the community these last few months have focused around the Big Bang Challenge, but we do have some other fanworks to share as well. If you'd like to peruse the impressive array of fics and art created for the challenge you can find them below, or in the AO3 Collection here.

Those of you following Bendis' tumblr probably saw his post where he said:

man, the launch of iron man is going so well, i might have to launch another!

Apparently he wasn't only teasing. An interview with Axel Alonso on CBR:

Moving to some Marvel news from this week -- Brian Michael Bendis broadly hinted on Tumblr that he may be working on a second "Iron Man" title. Can you confirm anything regarding that at this point?

Alonso: Brian and David are playing the long game with "Invincible Iron Man." When Brian pitched us, he said there was an idea for a sister-title that would spin out of the first germinating in his brain.

What does it say, to you, that Iron Man is a character that Marvel now has enough faith in to handle two series from a top writer? Clearly, he's become huge over the past few years, largely due to the Marvel Studios films, but within comics, it' still surprising to see him at a Spider-Man or Batman level in supporting multiple titles. What convinced Marvel that Iron Man merited a second book?

Alonso: Brian did. [Laughs] I can't say much, but I will say this: The reveal on the last page of "Invincible Iron Man" #1 is big enough that it might need an entire series just to deal with. Retailers -- plan accordingly!

What do you think? Are you excited?

There's been a lot of interviews with Bendis lately about his upcoming Tony solo (who else isn't over the news? I can't wait!).

The first issue will be out in October. Four months seems so long now.

What we know:
spoilers )

But the reason I'm making this post is this: a live chat with Bendis has just finished. And this is very relevant to all of us:
Bendis was asked if he'd touch on Tony's relationship with Steve. His answer?
stevetony spoilers! )

They have also posted concept art of the armour:big image )
