Interested in reading up on your favorite Avengers, but unsure where to start? There are official DVD libraries of back issues and Marvel Digital Unlimited on offer, but what to read? Don't want to sit through five issues of Cap hallucinating for no particularly good reason? Now there's an online guide for that! Well, two.

The Avengers for The Iron Man / Captain America Fan is now fully updated and covers every single issue from Heroes Reborn in the mid-90's through Civil War for both general plot and Cap and Iron Man content!

Also, for all your Cap backstory need, it is joined by the brand shiny new Captain America Comics for the Ficcing Fan, helping you figure out which characters make a major appearance in an issue, and plots and things of fannish interest it might contain. This guide covers every issue of Captain America from Heroes Reborn through Civil War.

Never pick up a back issue looking for slashy moments, only to find that Cap is off sulking and Iron Man is in a different book California ever again!

Note: Currently these only include the actual comic book titles Captain America and Avengers / New Avengers. No spin offs, minis, or non 616 universes have been reviewed at this time.

Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] elspethdixon and [livejournal.com profile] seanchai, who loaned me some of their comic book library, so I could finish this monster.

[personal profile] grey_bard actually posted this over in the LJ iteration of this community but I figured I'd signal-boost it here on DW since some folks on DW don't follow LJ at all: Announcing Avengers and Captain America Issue By Issue Fannish Guides. Wherein [personal profile] grey_bard has provided pretty much it what it sez onna tin.

And which I, personally, plan to use shamelessly as I dig through 616 continuity! And figure other new-to-616-continuity folks might wish to do the same. :D

“Jarvis said you want to see Tony’s workshop.”

“I don’t want someone to give me a tour of it, like it’s some sort of museum. I want to use it to-”

“Absolutely not.”

He had on his stubborn, self-righteous face and no matter how much she loved Steve, that expression had always made her want to punch his pretty face. This version of her husband was no different.

“Hello, sour patch.”

“Excuse me?” he said, caught off guard.

“No? I guess Tony’s not into nicknames.” She sat down on the other side of booth and shrugged. “I’m known for giving people nicknames.”

“No, nicknames aren’t really Tony’s thing. I went ahead and order a burger the way you…the way Tony likes it,” said Rhodey awkwardly. “I hope that’s okay.”
