Now that we're going into our second year as mods, we've decided to get a bit more active with community activities. We'd love to plan the challenges, fests, and posts that make you excited to be a Steve/Tony fan and inspire you to create the most excellent of fic, art, and meta. But we realized we don't know what kinds of challenges, fests, and posts excite and inspire you the most. Hence, a poll!

Proposed fun community activities, plus a poll! )

Exactly one year ago, [livejournal.com profile] muccamukk , [livejournal.com profile] valtyr and I became the mods of this community. We weren't exactly elected, as we were the only three to volunteer when [livejournal.com profile] axolotl_lan and [livejournal.com profile] pandanoai put out the call for replacement mod candidates. Instead of running against each other, we decided to co-mod, and there were no objections at the time.

The year has flown by! This community has grown to over 900 members (It doesn't seem long ago that we were celebrating the 300 mark!) and a lot has changed in both our favorite comic books and in this community.

We want to give members of this community the chance to decide if you want to keep us as mods for another year, or you'd rather put the moderator position up for a vote, in which case we - and anyone else who wishes to - would run for the position.

Commenting will be turned off for this post, but please PM any of the mods with concerns or questions. This poll will run for one week and close by Sunday, June 20th. It isn't possible to create a truly anonymous LJ poll, but the detailed results will be viewable only by me, and I will not be looking to see who voted which way, nor will I share the information with anyone, including my co-mods. The numerical results will be viewable by everyone. Only community members can vote.

The votes in the covers poll regarding the Slashy Moments List were overwhelmingly in favor of giving covers their own section.

That makes sense to me--they influence canon, and deserve to be listed, but they aren't quite canon themselves--so I've gone ahead and given them their own section. I put the Red Zone cover in there, and also broke the intervention issue cover out of its listing and put it there, too. That gives up moments number 90, and 91!

We're approaching 100 moments--that's kind of exciting!

I have a question for the comm regarding the Slashy Moments List.

What should we do about slashy cover art? It's not exactly canon. We all know that covers often show scenes that never actually happen in the storyline itself. But some of them are pretty damn slashy. Like the cover form the famous intervention issue, or the cover of Red Zone #5.

The cover of the intervention issue is currently on the list because the entire issue is on the list. The cover of Red Zone isn't.

A poll to evaluation options:

Please feel free to argue your point in the comments! If I think you make sense, I may go that way even if the poll disagrees.

This poll is so I can get a rough sense of the head count so I can start planning and making goody bags. Everyone attending SDCC is welcome, not just people from this community.

Since so many of us are now working on long, plotty stories at once thanks to the big bang challenge, I have a couple of nosey writing processes question for y'all (and feel free to delete this poll if it's not on-topic, Panda & Lan).

Some of us are writing a long-form story for the first time, some of us have written long stories before, and some of us have written long things, but not in this fandom/with a co-writer/under time constraints/etc. What kinds of writing techniques do you guys find useful/helpful? For example, I know some people who have to have an extremely detailed outline before they write, and some who find overly-detailed outlines stifling.

What is a big bang fest?
-A Big Bang fest is two-part: There's fic and there's art. Writers submit fics, and artists/vid makers claim them to make art or video to go along with the fics. Want to get more of a feel? Check out the faq for the [livejournal.com profile] tardis_bigbang

Hello there fandom! :D So do we all have our denial!goggles on? GOOD! We can get back to writing happy Steve/Tony smut then ^___^ or, at least fic where Steve is alive? Going to be alive? Where things aren't dismal and Tony's not Marvel's strawman? Something along those lines? *sigh*[Poll #1318733]

Movie stuff's allowed here, right?

What with a director and writers being announced for the Captain America movie, Newsarama's been running polls about who should play our beloved Steve Rogers.  They're down to the top three choices of Newsarama readers:
  1. Mark Valley
  2. Aaron Eckhart
  3. Nathan Fillion
I already voted*, and you should too!  (You have to have a Newsarama account, but it's not a painful sign-up)

*for Mark Valley, which should come as no surprise to anyone who has ever even said "Captain America movie" to me :D

Wow! There has been a lot of love this week for Pandax_Pro! We just had to say thank you!

Mizu of course is a goddess! Her art is the electronic equivalent of chocolate!

Camelonajourney wrote the best Peter!crack ever! I couldn't stop smiling! Go here to read her fic which is an AU of Moth :D She also drew the cutest fanart for Moth and bravely posted it (we only had to torture her a little bit with Puppy America).

Frank_Pullo (our awesomely fantastic beta) was so inspired by above fic that she wrote a sequel! And it's wonderful! GO READ! :3

Oh! Also Camel asked us to pimp the preview to her Steve/Tony CW fix!it comic! And how could we refuse? So... PIMPED!

On a completely unrelated note (heh yeah right >.>), we at Pandax_Pro were curious... if Steve and Tony were to ever have adopt a child, would you want it to be a boy or a girl, what would you have the name be, and why?

MUCH LOVE TO OUR FAV COMMUNITY! <3 <3

Here it is! The ranked list of Slashiest Moments!

Hopefully the formatting is clear, but just in case...
* The number in bold and between -- is the ranking.
* The number next to the # symbol is the moment's original number on the scans list, for reference.
* The number in parentheses at the end is how many votes that moment got.

And now click to check out the rankings! )

34 different people voted in the poll. I didn't put up vote percentages because the way I had to create the LJ poll meant their percentages were wrong and I wasn't about to recalculate them all. *g*

Some things there that I expected (the top ranked moment is no surprise!), and some surprises! What do you folks think?

You know, it would be interesting to know who the writers and artists were for each of these moments...but I'm not going to dig up all that info. *g* A project for a curious fan with time on their hands, perhaps?
[identity profile] crimsonquills.livejournal.com
Hey folks! I'm planning on putting together the ranked list of Slashiest Moments tomorrow (Thursday) morning, so this is your last chance to vote in the poll!

Here's the link to the list of moments with issue references and scans: http://community.livejournal.com/cap_ironman/21623.html

And here's the link to the poll: http://community.livejournal.com/cap_ironman/23878.html

If you've already voted, this is your last chance to change your mind! *g*
[identity profile] crimsonquills.livejournal.com
Hey folks! We now have scans for both of the slashy moments that were previously without scans! (They were #35, Casualties of War, and #43, the maternal bickering.) If you felt you couldn't judge their slashiness without a scan, you can go and check them out now! It took some serious self-torture for me to get Casualties of War down to just 8 scans. Every page of that issues is impossibly slashy. You really, really need to buy it and read the whole thing.

Anyway, the giant list with scans is here, if you want to check 'em out again.

And you're all still welcome and encouraged to go vote in the Slashiest Moments poll.
[identity profile] crimsonquills.livejournal.com
It's time to vote!

Behind the cut is the poll with which we will hopefully pick the 5 slashiest moments of all. Because LJ poll questions actually do have a size limit, links to the scans are not included. To review the scans again, go back to the list we compiled. It has been updated and contains all 54 moments nominated with their references and scans. (We're missing two scans, though. I even went to [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily looking for them, but after going through 60 Iron Man posts I was in too much pain and had to stop. That comm can be nasty.)

A bit of "How To" for the poll:

1. There's a maximum of 15 possible answers for a question in LJ polls, so the 54 moments have been split into four sections. You don't have to vote in each section. If you don't want to vote for any of the moments in a given section, just leave it blank.
2. We're aiming to determine the top 5 slashiest moments, but you are more than welcome to vote for more than 5 moments. Just keep in mind that if everyone votes for all 54, we'll just have a 54-way tie. *g* Try to pare your choices of "slashiest moments" down as much as you can bear to.
3. If you change your mind after you vote, it is possible to change your vote in the poll. To do so, click on the poll number, then click on "Fill out poll", then change your answers as desired and resubmit the poll.
4. If you have any questions, comment!

And now...
